Hi! I'm recording my first podfic on GarageBand, and after reading, I'm about to start editing. However, I don't know much about the editing process. I've done some editing as I go along (i.e., re-recording passages) and I don't think there's noticeable background noise (I fiddled with some settings, etc.), but I noticed that the mic picked up some mouse-clicking and I'd like to edit it out. Is there a way to do that?
Also, is there a way to manually set up breaks in tracks? E.g., let's say I have some track where I read a passage, messed up on a sentence, paused, and restarted reading (vs. re-recording). Can I make a break point at the beginning of the sentence where I messed up, another break point at the end of the point where I messed up, cut out the section with the mistake, and then slide the 'correct portion' so that it matches the cut point?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Last year I made this icon
following a tutorial. It was my first time animating an icon and (as you can see) it didn't turn out the best.
But I've been improving my stills and I'm now ready to tackle this effect again - except I can't find the tutorial!
(I spent about an hour searching through the tags and memories in every category I thought might apply).
I'm using Photoshop CS3 and if anyone knows the link to the tutorial or how to achieve this look I would be so thankful.

I use PS2, Imageready and have Photoscape available and wanted to make gifs for Tumblr - can you please advise how to make a gif like this?

Legendary Women Inc has one (possibly two) extra weekend pass to the Philadelphia Comic Con next weekend (Thursday May 31 - Sunday June 3). We'd like to offer it to someone in exchange for helping up work our table at the convention.
If you're interested in using our weekend pass please comment on this post or send me a PM. Right now we definitely have one pass. We may have two, but I probably won't find out about the second one until next week.
I've looked all over and can't find the exact information I need, so if anyone can supply it or point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.
It's 1600, Bankside, in London. A four-man brawl has just been broken up - three of the brawlers end up at Queen's Bench, charged convicted, fined. My question is, since there was no police force, who apprehends them? Where are they held until they make bail? About how much would each man, convicted of assault and "disturbing the peace", be fined?
Thanks in advance!

Queen Victoria's diaries have been put on line - all 40,000+ pages of them!
http://www.queenvictoriasjournals.org/h ome.do
The pages are scans, mostly of the Queen's writing or copies made by Princess Beatrice, although some entries were apparently typed up by Lord Esher - all extant versions are included. This sometimes means that some apparently boring days exist in several versions, while e.g. the first assassination attempt (june 10th 1840) is only in Princess Beatrice's copy, and is occasionally difficult to read. But it's a staggeringly complete record of the period from a unique viewpoint, and well worth a look if the period interests you.

I'm working on "The Deeps of the Sky" tonight, and generating a regular festival of Words Word Don't Know:
luminesced, tropopause, sheeny, thicks, unnavigable, dartlike,
Meanwhile, I had a little argument with myself on twitter as to whether I should use some modestly bogus science to create a cool special effect. I went with it. ;-) Now I'm stopping because I have to figure out how the protagonist intervenes to stop the Bad Thing from happening, or how he mops up afterward...
Oh, I might have just done so. Woot!
